Narrative
Follow Rupert Campbell-Black and Tony Baddingham as their long-running rivalry comes to a head. Coincidentally, Aidan Turner previously filmed at Chavenage House (The Priory in Rivals). The same location was used in the 2015 Poldark adaptation of Trenwith House. A very light and drinkable watch, thoroughly enjoyable. Great characters, story, drama and 80s music to sing along to. David Tennant once again plays a fantastic antagonist. Aidan Turner is wonderful as always. The actors have clearly portrayed this brilliantly and it comes across in the series. So many talented actors in one performance. The series starts out as a comedic one and gets more dramatic as the episodes go on. The series has stayed true to the book and the 80s character. The characters are enjoyable and easy to root for. I finished each episode wanting to watch more all the way to the end. Let’s hope for season 2!
