The series is an adaptation of James Patterson’s novels about the complicated and brilliant detective Alex Cross
Hodge is the third actor to portray Cross, following Morgan Freeman, who first played him on screen in 1997’s Kiss the Girls and again in the 2001 sequel Along Came a Spider; and Tyler Perry as the title character in 2012’s Alex Cross, which bombed at the box office and led Lionsgate to cancel a previously planned sequel, Double Cross. I’ve been driving a lot of highways and listening to James Patterson’s Alex Cross, but I don’t remember the story or stories it was made from.
That Detective Cross looked different than I remembered
In fact, I think I was around his age when he was working with the feds instead of the city police department. No less.
This series had one major flaw for me
They seemed to have too many stories going on together. It was confusing to see the connections at times.
Other people here have commented on how different Morgan Freeman’s portrayal of Cross was
Plus, the main bad guy was almost a supervillain because he was well-positioned to get to anyone, anytime. I agree and I also wish this Cross actually acted more intelligently most of the time instead of just jumping around.
